MIMS Wins Global Start-Up of The Year Award
International community Mums in Marketing (MiMs), has been named the winner of the coveted Global Award at The Start-up Awards National Series, Midlands UK.
MiMs, a global community of ‘Women who do marketing and raise humans’ was founded by Claire Ferreira.
The final was held at the Secret Space in Digbeth, Birmingham and adjudicated by a panel of prominent judges, including Stefania Pellegrino of Purely, Tom Walker of Holy Moly Dips and serial entrepreneur Piers Linney.
Claire Ferreira, Founder, of MiMS, said: “Winning such an accolade so early on in our journey is incredible. This award is for each and every one of our members.
MiMs is a community of women, coming together to create change, by celebrating having a marketing career or a marketing business, and being a mother.
The world-wide marketing economy is impacted year on year, with an estimated 36% of talented female marketeers leaving the industry when they become parents.
‘As part of our community, MiMs are able to build confidence, share their own knowledge, as well as increase it! This not only positively impacts MiMs directly, but their families, clients, employers, and the global economy. The consequence of losing great marketers is huge, but it doesn’t have to be this way.
We are here to supercharge marketing careers and business. Regardless of job title or employment status, everyone is welcome, and we unite, across the world, as mothers, on a human level, as people and parents.
Claire launched Mums in Marketing in May 2022. In spite of a global pandemic, it grew to a community of thousands.
MiMs, offers training, networking, workshops and masterclasses , as well as the opportunity to build professional relationships and friendships. It provides a platform for brands and businesses to partner through collaborations and projects.
Claire continued: ‘These past few years have been a bonkers mix of crying in total awe for the incredible community and what they achieve every day, total exhaustion and massive surges of energy and focus to make MiMs happen.
Seeing the incredible responses from thousands of amazing women joining our community, to support each other and create change together, has been sensational. The brands and organisations we are working with is phenomenal and this is just the start.’
The StartUp Awards National Series has been rolled out in nine UK regions, supported by BT, Clearco, Moblox, Fearless Adventures and with regional support from Moja Group.
Creator of the awards Professor Dylan Jones-Evans OBE said : “A huge congratulations to Claire, given she started her business in the same month that the economy was shutting down due to COVID-19, this is an incredible achievement that she should be very proud of. Claire and many of the businesses showcased are going to have a significant impact on their sector and I hope that many other entrepreneurs will follow in their footsteps over the next few years.”
Claire’s experiences as a mother, community -founder, coach and entrepreunr, has seen her take to the stage at international conferences and events.
